Bëtsknatë, known as the “Día Grande” (Great Day), is the most important ancestral festival of the Kamëntsá and Inga peoples of the Sibundoy Valley in Putumayo, Colombia. It marks a time of gratitude for the harvest, reconciliation, and spiritual renewal, when families and communities come together to honor Mother Earth, ask forgiveness, and restore harmony among themselves. Through traditional dress, music, dance, visits to sacred places and collective offerings, Bëtsknatë reaffirms their role as guardians of territory, memory and biodiversity, and celebrates the understanding that everything is alive and deeply interconnected.
